Day 1: July 19th, 2026
¡Finally in Costa Rica, we waited for this moment! After some time on a plane we arrived and were able to experience the pura vida of every tico here. Costa Rica welcomed us with a Caribbean hug, for lunch we had rice & beans a afrocostarrican dish. After that we got to meet our host families here in Heredia, our first stop. We were so nervous but excited at the same time, all our new families were so sweet!

Day 2: July 20th, 2026
¡Rise and shine, everyone! Sincec its ouur first full day in Costa Rica, it is a must to go around town to get a firsthand view of the local color. We explored the mercado, where they sell all kinds of fruits and vegetables that we had never seen before. A beautiful afternoon, perfect for starting our day meeting our Spanish teachers and getting started with our classes. ¡The campus is so nice! On Monday

Day 3: 21th July, 2026
¡Volcano day! Today we visited Poás Volcano. It was a really nice car ride going up and up; it got a bit cold. ¡Pro tip: If you go, don't forget your abrigo! There were amazing views of the city and we got to eat the sweetest strawberries as we went back down to CPI. As is going to be the case for the rest of our trip, we had Spanish classes in the afternoon. It was a very productive day, traveling and learning.

Day 4: 22th July, 2026
We were so ready to learn more about this country, this morning to met David our tour guide, who took us all around the good historical places of San José, finishing with a delicious lunch. You know what they say ¡Panza llena, corazón contento! (A full belly, a happy heart), It is interesting to learn about the history of the country, Latin and Central American culture and history.

Day 5: 23th July, 2026
¡Hola, hola! Today we went to a Costa Rican school, we played with the kids a lot! They definitely have lots of energy! After learning some of the games the kids here have, we put our hands on work; we were volunteering with a partner NGO of CPI. It was nice to see the progress several helping hands can do, and we are glad we can contribute to this nice project. We would definitely do this again.

Day 6: 24th July, 2026
FriYay! We are so excited for our weekend excursion, looking forward to see Costarican beaches. But meanwhile, on our last day at Heredia. We visited a rescue center to learn more about Costa Rican animals. This experience prepared us to be mindful around them and coexist better, now that we are going to their habitat.

Day 7: 25th July, 2026
Today was an early morning, around five we hit road. We got to Manuel Antonio National Park, where we had a guided tour to see the wildlife ¡Que chiva! After we enjoyed the beach; the water was so nice our favorite part so far! We had some fresh coconut water, a late lunch, and caught the sunset at la playa.

Day 8: 26th July, 2026
Amigos, another day at paradise. After breakfast, we had some free time in the morning to explore around one last time. After we drove to Monteverde and met our tica families here at this new location, the weather was a bit cooler and an incredible change of scenery, we love it. Stay tuned for our cloud forest adventures.

Day 9: 27th July, 2026
El Bosque Nuboso was so magical! Fun fact, did you know cloud forests literally harvest their own rain straight out of thin air through a process called horizontal precipitation? Now you do! today Doña Marcela, our guide, took us through the clouds to see how being in the whimsical feels like, we saw a lot of cool plants and insects. After we cooked our on lunch, un casadito, it was super fun to learn about Costa Rican cuisine behind the scenes, cause we just see the final dishes.

Day 10: 28th July, 2026
Now we are part of Borona's fan club, today we learn more about Monteverde, coffee, and agroecology at a sustainable coffee farm. Don Guillermo guided us on a walk around this special place: LIFE Monteverde. We learned a lot about the locals and Monteverde history; we tried some coffee and had a riquísimo lunch from the farm to the table.

Day 11: 29th July, 2026
¡Todo ha sido increíble! Today we did some service and gave back to Costa Rica in some way after everything we had enjoyed. Diego, don Manuel and Marvin, guided us in this hard but meaningful experience, We started our service project from scratch and saw it done by the end of the morning, which made us feel fulfilled and proud.

Day 12: 30th July, 2026
Hoy volamos por las montañas. A very fast adventure through a zipline that took us meters above the ground to change our perspective from the cloud forest. A few days back, we walked in it but now we fly above it! We definitely talked about it in our Spanish afternoon class.

Day 13: 31th July, 2026
¡Last day in Costa Rica! We had a free morning to roam around and buy some last minute souvenirs ¡No podemos olvidar eso! In the afternoon we has our graduation of spanish classes. We learned and practiced so much and got even better skills. ¡Thank you to our professors!
