World Strides 2025

Day 1: Saturday, March 29th - Welcome to Costa Rica! 

The adventure begins! Today our group arrived in San José, Costa Rica, ready to explore its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and incredible biodiversity. We´re excited to embark on this journey and can´t wait to share the experiences ahead! 

     

Day 2: Sunday, March 30th - From Wild Rapids to a Cozy Welcome in Monteverde

What a better way to start the day than with an exhilarating rafting tour? The group had an incredible time navigating the rapids, enjoying both the thrill of the adventure and the stunning natural surroundings. After an action-packed morning, the group continued our journey to their main destination -Monteverde- where they had the special opportunity to meet their costarrican host families. 

    

Day 3: Monday, March 31st - Spanish and Culinary Adventures

Let the classes begin! Today, the group started their Spanish learning journey. Later, they enjoyed a cooking class, preparing a traditional Costa Rican dish called picadillo de arracache. Arracache is a beloved root vegetable in Costa Rica, known for its potential benefits in neural regulation and composition - fascinating right? After a delicious lunch, the group embarked on a tour of the Santa Elena Reserve, where they had the oportunity to observe local wildlife. 

  

Day 4: Tuesday, April 1st - Exploring Coffee Cultivation at Life Monteverde

 

Today, the group began their day with Spanish classes. After completing their lessons, they went to their first day of volunteering at Life Monteverde. They also had a guided coffee tour where gained valuable insights into the coffee planting process, learning about is techniques and significance.

 

    

 

Day 5: Wednesday, April 2nd - Cultural Immersion and Volunteering 

 

Our volunteer work goes on! Today, the group continued their Spanish classes during the morning. In the afternoon, they visited Life Monteverde for another enriching educational experience. They also learned how to make tortillas - a staple of Costa Rican cuisine made of corn flour, often enjoyed with cheese, sour cream, or any topping of choice, always paired with a good cup of coffee. Later, they took part in volunteer activities, showing great teamwork and dedication. Well done, everyone!
